Our offices’ associates are involved in several energy projects, particularly in renewable energy with emphasis on the acquisition of production and installation licenses and operation of photovoltaic parks, wind and hydro electric parks, all over the world. The firm provides legal services covering all the stages of an energy project from the initial structuring to the final installation and production of electric power. In particular, the firm has developed expertise in:

• the preparation of files and monitoring of the licensing process for the production of electric power from Renewable Energy Sources before the competent Greek Authorities [Regulatory Authority of Energy (RAE) and Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs],
• the formation and operation of Societes Anonymes founded especially for energy projects,
• the drafting and negotiation of agreements with EPC contractors,
• the preparation of files and monitoring of the licensing process for the production / installation licenses including technical, economical and legal requirements,
• the review and implementation of all the necessary steps for the pertinent project finance with major Greek / foreign banks, operating in Greece,
• researching and review of land issues throughout Greece for the purchase / lease of the sites for the installation of renewable energy parks and/or permitting,
• monitoring licensing process with the Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy in all pending licensing matters,
• conduct of litigation before Administrative Authorities / Courts / Council of State, related to the granting / rejection of the relevant permissions regarding the production/installation licenses and environmental issues.

The firm has handled the following projects:

• Advising with respect to and monitoring licensing procedures for a major Austrian energy company regarding photovoltaic and wind parks totaling 1120 MW in various regions of Greece. Monitoring of progress of licensing procedure with Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy.
• Advising with respect to and monitoring licensing procedures, the corporate structure, the project financing and the full cooperation with the EPC developers for an energy group of companies in connection with the installation of 68MW of photovoltaic parks in several regions of Greece.
• Advising a domestic energy company with respect to and monitoring the licensing procedures, providing due diligence services and structuring its corporate organization for both wind and photovoltaic parks with a capacity of approximately 150MW.
• Advising and monitoring the licensing procedures, due diligence services and consultation services with respect to the energy corporate structure of several, individual Greek companies, for the sale and purchase of hydro electric parks all over Greece.
• Advising and monitoring the licensing procedures, due diligence services and consultation services with respect to the energy corporate structure of Mytilinaios Group of Companies, regarding approximately 25MW of photovoltaic parks in Northern Greece.
